Lifting Spirits & Giving Hope
When Love Like Landon first started, we provided the hospitals with "Loads of Love" which consisted of laundry baskets filled with cleaning supplies to help newly diagnosed families keep their homes safe. We also partnered with a great company that helped supply a child with a new N95 mask during their treatment. We hosted some events at the hospital for inpatient children to lift spirits and give some reprieve! And we were able to do a toy drive for the hospital Landon was treated at.
But then COVID hit and masks became normal for everyone. Easily available and in abundance. On top of this, cleaning supplies were handed out from countless other organizations local to us, so we decided to focus our attention on something else. Something that will always be in desperate need - financial assistance.
Cancer treatment is expensive! Insurance only covers so much. But something that's never covered is an electric bill. Insurance doesn't top off your gas tank or fill your refrigerator!
While most treatments are not only expensive, they take up so much time. More than not, a parent has to quit their job to help their child get to and from appointments; some weeks or months on end. Financially suffocating families and draining them of any financial cushion.
It is now our mission at Love Like Landon to raise funds and help families across the US with financial assistance. To lift spirits, to give hope and to continue to fight along with each family we serve.
